Miyajima
It’s important to know what to wear in your trip to Japan. In my case most of the cities had a very nice weather, but my when I arrived to Hiroshima and Miyajima in June, it did not stop raining and being cloudy and humid.
So it’s better to be prepared for anything than regret it. Check out other posts from my trip to Japan.
What to wear in Japan the whole year:
January, February and March
These months are the winter seasons of Hiroshima. Especially in January, the average temperature could fall below 10c, or some days could be below the freezing point.
Because the cold days continue during the winter, it is super important to bring warm clothes, a thick jacket and snow accessories and very cold as gloves, scarf and beanies. Also try to wear a minimum pair of boots because it can snow.
April, May and June
The best time to visit Hiroshima and its surroundings.
Once the month of April begins, the average high temperature rises to 20c, which makes April a super-rich month to travel.
In addition, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom at the beginning of April in Hiroshima, which makes it the best month to enjoy the cherry trees.
The climate of May is quite stable in temperature and humidity, which are another pleasant time of the year. The view of the trees that become lush and green after the flowering season is also quite lovely.
When June arrives, it gets pretty hot. Even more so when June is the month in which the Tsuyu or rainy season takes place in Japan, so it is important to wear waterproof clothes like this rain coat I love.
July, August and September
The summer of Hiroshima is warm, so light clothes and drinking lots of water is essential.
The rainy season ends around mid-July. Then comes the summer season and the warm and humid climate continues with maximums in the range of 30C. So if you don’t want to die of heat, wear comfortable and light clothes.
August in Hiroshima is the hottest month of the year, with temperatures exceeding the 35C, in fact sometimes it is hotter than Tokyo. It’s hot and humid. Remember to bring water to avoid dehydration and a heat stroke.
In early September, the summer heat continues, but as the month progresses, it gets cooler.
Already at the end of September, mornings and nights can be cold, so wear a jacket or sweater warm for anything.
October, November and December
Autumn is here! It is a perfect season to get your best outfits but always taking into account that at this time the weather is very changeable especially between day and night.
The temperature and humidity level are quite stable in October, which makes October the most enjoyable time of the year, and it’s my birthday too! Just in case you wanted to know.
Already at the end of October entering November, the scenery gets the most beautiful.
And December marks the beginning of winter, so the temperature starts to go down a lot and have jackets and snow accessories are a “must”.
