Best Pet Friendly Cafés in Playa del Carmen: 5 Coffee Shops to Visit With Your Dog
Where to drink great coffee, work remotely, and relax with your pup in the Riviera Maya
One of my favorite things about living in the Riviera Maya (besides the ocean, obviously) is how easy it is to find cute cafés where you don’t have to leave your dog at home.
If you travel with your pet like I do, you know this changes everything. A good coffee shop becomes your office, your brunch spot, your chill corner, your little daily ritual.
After filming lots of reels and spending way too many mornings café hopping around town, I finally put together this guide to my favorite pet friendly cafés in Playa del Carmen.

These places are perfect for millennials, digital nomads, travelers, couples, solo explorers, and anyone who loves coffee, cute spaces, and dogs.
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
Bruna Café
A hidden patio near 5th Avenue
Bruna feels like one of those local gems you randomly discover and then never stop going back to.
It has a beautiful shaded patio with plants and open space, which makes it super comfortable if you’re visiting with your dog. The vibe is calm, never rushed, and the staff is always kind to pets.
The food is consistently good, especially for breakfast or brunch, and their coffee is exactly what you want to start your day slow and happy.
Perfect for: long breakfasts, relaxed mornings, catching up with friends, or journaling with your pup by your side.
La Logia Café
Air conditioning, creative drinks, and a mystical vibe
When Playa’s heat hits hard, this place is a lifesaver.
La Logia Café is one of my top picks when I need air conditioning and a cozy indoor space. The décor is unique, slightly mystical, and very different from your typical beachy café.
Their menu is full of creative and seasonal coffee drinks, so it’s ideal if you love trying original flavors instead of the same basic latte everywhere.
And yes, it’s pet friendly too.
Perfect for: remote work, editing photos, reading, or escaping the heat with your dog.
Bajo Café – Quinta
Jungle vibes and one of my favorite lattes in town
This café feels very “Riviera Maya”.
Think greenery, shade, relaxed energy, and that tropical atmosphere that makes you forget you’re just minutes from busy 5th Avenue.
Their latte is honestly one of my favorites in Playa del Carmen, and the enchiladas are my go-to when I want something more filling.
It’s the kind of place where you plan to stay 30 minutes and end up staying two hours.
Of course, dogs are welcome.
Perfect for: brunch, slow afternoons, or long chats over coffee.
Fresco Hábito
Vegan, healthy, and fresh options
If you prefer lighter or plant-based food, Fresco Hábito is your spot.
They have delicious coffee, smoothies, bowls, and a big menu with plenty of vegan and healthy options. Everything feels fresh and homemade.
The environment is casual and welcoming, and bringing your dog is totally fine.
I love coming here after a workout or when I want something nourishing but still tasty.
Perfect for: healthy breakfasts, quick lunches, or feel-good meals.
Aruma Café (inside Parque La Ceiba)
Nature, calm, and the most peaceful café in Playa
This one is my personal escape.
Aruma Café is located inside Parque La Ceiba, surrounded by trees and nature. It feels like you’ve left the city completely.
It’s perfect for reading, working quietly, journaling, or just slowing down with your dog next to you. The food is simple, homemade, and really good too.
If you love slow travel and peaceful spots, this is a must.
Perfect for: unplugging, relaxing afternoons, and mindful moments.
