2. Queretaro:

About halfway between Mexico City and Xilitla, the city of Queretaro is a great place to stop for a day or two. Check out the historic center, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and visit the beautiful churches and museums in the area. You can also try some delicious local cuisine, including the famous gorditas de maíz.

3. San Luis Potosi:

Another interesting city to visit along the way is San Luis Potosi, which is known for its beautiful colonial architecture and rich cultural heritage. Some must-see sights include the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral of San Luis Potosi, and the Museo Nacional de la Mascara.

4. Xilitla:

Finally, you’ll arrive in Xilitla, which is famous for its stunning natural beauty and the surrealist sculpture gardens of Las Pozas. Spend some time exploring the gardens and the surrounding mountains, and don’t miss the chance to try some local delicacies like enchiladas potosinas and cactus fruit.

Here are some road trip essentials you should consider packing:

  • Navigation tools: A GPS device, a map, or a smartphone with a navigation app can help you find your way and plan your route.
  • First-aid kit: A basic first-aid kit should include antiseptic wipes, bandages, gauze pads, adhesive tape, pain relievers, and any prescription medications you may need.
